<abstract>In 2013 Toowoomba philanthropist Clive Berghofer donated $50.1 million to the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, the largest donation by an individual in Australian history. The Institute name was subsequently changed to QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute and a new Central building, commenced in 2010, is completed.</abstract>
