<span style="font-style:italic">Cunninghamia</span> (ISSN 0727-9620) has been published by the National Herbarium of New South Wales since 1981. Originally issued irregularly, it is now published twice per year, with various subtitles. It's content is original research papers on all aspects of plant ecology, including experimental and historical studies of plant communities and populations, and their interactions with other organisms. The emphasis is on the vegetation of eastern Australia, particularly New South Wales. Allan Cunningham made a number of extensive and significant exploration in and around Australia between 1816 and 1831, and was Colonial Botanist in New South Wales from 1837 to 1839.
