Fred Nevill, BCE CE, Divisional engineer, State Rivers and Water Supply Commission, took a leading role in the management of irrigation districts, the construction of rural water supply systems and the introduction of rural sewerage schemes. He served as a Commissioner of the Royal Commission on Sanitation in 1926, and presented at the First Commonwealth Conference on Public Health Engineering in 1927. In 1934 he wrote a descriptive and technical summary of the water supply and sewerage systems of country towns in Victoria.
