<abstract>Arthur Mackenzie, MInstCE MIStructE MVIE MIEAust and registered Architect in Victoria, was Engineer-in-Chief for the Melbourne Harbor Trust from 1913 to 1920 and later was a Member of the Court of Marine Inquiry. In 1920 he became a partner in the firm D'Ebro, Mackenzie and Meldrum, Civil engineers and Architects, and was associated with many of its large commissions including freezing works.

When he commenced work with the Melbourne Harbor Trust he was given the task of developing a future long term plan for the Port of Melbourne, that was partly approved by the Commissioners, and then he was charged with progressively implementing the improvements.

He was active within the engineering profession, as a Councillor of the Institution of Engineers Australia, and as Chairman and Committee member of its Melbourne Division.</abstract>

 * Consulting engineer to Melbourne Electric Supply Co.;<br />
 * Consulting engineer to Newcastle Abattoirs Board;<br />
 * Consulting engineer to Commonwealth Oil Refineries Ltd.;<br />
