Plastics Industries
The Plastics Industry Association Inc (PIA) was formed from the Plastics Institute of Australia Inc. As well as becoming the peak association for the plastics industry in Australia and a stronger advocacy body for the industry, it continuing the health, safety, educational and knowledge sharing role of its predecessor.
PIA continued to organise the successful "Know Your Plastics" seminars, and revise and update the associated text book Know your plastics (revised 1992).
In 1994 it merged with the Australian Chemical Industry Council (ACIC) and the Chemical Importers and Exporters Council of Australia (CIECA) to form the Plastics and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA).
