The SMEC Foundation was established by SMEC in 2001 to provide small scale grant assistance to community groups and development projects in Australia and overseas. Over the years, the Foundation has supported a portfolio of projects in a growing number of regions. It aims to deliver the best possible social and development outcomes for needy individuals and communities. The Foundation's principal areas of focus include health, education, environment, disability, community development and emergency relief. The SMEC Foundation gives tangible expression to the social purpose which has underpinned SMEC's operations since it was established in 1970.
