Guthrie Medal has been awarded, usually every three years since 1974, to recognise meritorious service to cereal chemistry in Australia or New Zealand. Originally presented by the Cereal Chemistry Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, in 2014 it was transferred to the Australasian Grain Science Association. Special awards were made in 1993 (to mark 100 years of cereal chemistry research in Australia), 2001 (to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Cereal Chemistry Division), and 2011 (in recognition of the International Year of Chemistry). Frederick Guthrie was a pioneer of wheat research in Australia while a chemist for the New South Wales Department of Agriculture from 1892 to 1924. Wrigley, Colin Walter ( - 2010)
