Formally constituted in 2009, the Association's aims include: to provide a forum for researchers, nutritionists and others interested in grain science; to advance knowledge and understanding of grain science and the grain industry; and to facilitate exchange of information through conferences and other activities. Members come from the agrifood section, research, and the grain food and allied industries. In 2014 the Association assumed stewardship of the awards formerly presented by the R.A.C.I.
