It is usually published twice a year. It supersedes the 'Civil Engineering Transactions' [ISSN: 0020-3297].

The Journal was published by Engineers Media for Engineers Australia, Volume 1, 2003 - Volume 12, 2014, and online through "Informit" 2003 - 2014. From Volume 13, Issue 1, 2015 the Journal has been published by "Taylor and Francis" and they host the series online 2003 - current.
