Her work focuses on understanding the basis of drug resistance and the development of targeted therapies to improve treatment outcomes. In 1984 Haber was one of the first scientists to be appointed to the Children's Cancer Institute Australia, becoming Executive Director in 2003. She is active in international organisations for research and treatment of neuroblastoma, including serving as President of the Advances in Neuroblastoma Research Association. Haber has received numerous awards for her research.
