Since 1997 it has been awarded by the Australian and New Zealand Federation of Chemical Engineers. Between 1982 and 1996 its was awarded jointly by Engineers Australia Chemical College, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in Australia, and by IChemE in New Zealand (formerly the Society of Chemical Engineers in New Zealand (SCENZ)). (Some of these groups are now Member Organisations of the Federation.) The Award is usually presented at the annual Chemeca conference, and the recipient is invited to present a plenary lecture at the conference.
