Projects included fixed and floating offshore structures, submarine pipelines and flexible systems. In his research he pursued partnerships with academia (particularly Monash University), government and commercial companies. In 1991 he founded of the Australian Marine Offshore Group (AMOG) which became a global consultancy specialising in engineering solutions in the oil, gas, mining, transport, renewable energy and defence sectors. AMOG was awarded the Australian Industrial Research Group (AIRG) Medal in 2016 for developing the longitudinally grooved suppression technology for offshore rises, technology which has considerable industrial potential.
