The Medico-Legal Society of Victoria was founded in Melbourne in 1931. Its objectives are the promotion of medico-legal knowledge and fostering of professional and collegiate scholarship amongst members of the medical and legal professions. This is achieved by the exchange of ideas and information, mainly through regular meetings and occasional conferences. The Society's Proceedings have been published since 1933
