After moving to Tasmania he became involved in local Branch of the Australian Optimetrical Association, serving a term as President. From 2010 he was national President of Optometry Australia. Under his chairmanship from 1993 to 2009, ProVision became an extensive business support network. In 2010 he became President of the National Board of Optometry Australia.
