Its objects were to promote the study of natural history, and investigate the geology, flora and fauna of Queensland. The interests of its members leaned towards zoology, and particularly entomology. Accounts of meetings were published in The Queenslander, and the Society published one volume of Transactions covering the years 1892 - 1894. Although by 1893 the Society had 94 members, many were unfinancial, and no meetings were held after 1896.
