FAA FAHMS FRS AACR2 Medical scientist Jane Visvader is medical scientist whose research focuses on the causes and treatment of breast cancer. She worked at several leading research laboratories, including the Harvard Medical School in Boston, U.S.A., before returning to Australia in 1998 to establish the Breast Cancer Laboratory at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. Under the joint leadership of Visvader and Geoffrey Lindeman, researchers at the laboratory have made major contributions in studying mammary stem cells and master regulators of mammary gland development.
