<abstract>Charles Hoskins, with his brother George Hoskins,were successful iron and steel manufacturers at Lithgow in New South Wales, from 1876 until 1924. They took over William Sandford's ironworks in 1907, and acquired a blast furnace, iron and steel works, colliery and iron ore leases at Cadia and Carcoar, and land at Lithow, Eskroy Park and Bowenfels.
His son Cecil Harold Hoskins became chairman from 1925 and built an integrated steelworks at Port Kembla and formed a new company, Australian Iron and Steel Limited.</abstract>
