Ronald Quinn is noted for his research into natural substances with pharmaceutical or therapeutic potential. He established an Australia-wide reference collection of bioactive substances derived from Australian indigenous plants and animals. His work focuses on molecular interactions in biological processes as the basis for developing new drugs and to derive treatments for diseases and neurological disorders particularly in the areas of infection, immunity and stem cell biology. Quinn is the Director of the Eskitis Institute for Cell and Molecular Therapies at Griffith University. He has received a number of awards for his research.
