His work in complex analysis resulted in a number of important research texts including Lectures on the automorphism groups of the Kobayashi-Hyperbolic manifolds (2007) and Spherical tube hypersurfaces (2011). For nearly 30 years Isaev taught at the Mathematical Sciences Institute, Australian National University, where he was Professor from 2014 to 2019.
