A resolution put to the 1946 meeting of the Section recognised the need for greater communication within the Australasian taxonomic botany community. The journal included reports of Section meetings, summaries of what was happening at the major Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea herbaria, and information related to the practice of taxonomy.
