He combines the inherent physical and chemical properties of metals with organic components, creating new materials with central cavities that can selectively bind with smaller particles. his work has resulted in the development of flexible crystals and new separation technologies that have application in a vast range of pharmaceutical and manufacturing processes. Clegg is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Queensland.
