In August 1929, the "Victorian Institute of Welding Engineers" became the "Australian Welding Institute".

From January 1927, the Victorian Institute of Welding Engineers published the monthly journal The Australian Welding Engineer.

From December 1928, Vol.2, No.12, the name of this publication was changed to Mechanical and Welding Engineer.
