<biogHist>
In 1910 the statutory authority that had been responsible for water, sewerage and drainage was dissolved and replaced by the Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Department. The shift from board control to departmental control aimed at consolidating water, sewerage and drainage under one administrative authority. Despite this some staff from the Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage and Draining Department (1910-1964) ended up being overseen by the Public Works Department of Western Australia (1901 - 1985). In 1964 the department was replaced with a new statutory authority - the Metropolitan Water Supply Sewerage and Drainage Board (1964 - 1982).
