In 1868 she married missionary Benjamin John Brown Gribble (1847 - 1893), and together they established missions in New South Wales (Darlington Point 1880 and Darling River 1887), Western Australia (Gascoyne River 1885) and Queensland (Cairns 1892). She made plant collections in the regions of these missions, sending them to Victorian Government Botanist Ferdinand von Mueller in Melbourne. Included in her collections were a number of type specimens. The National Herbarium of Victoria holds over 300 of her specimens, as well as some collected by her son, Ernest Richard Bulmer Gribble (1868 - 1957). National Herbarium of Victoria (1896 - )
