He developed a set of developed a set of statistical tools, writing his own programs, for evaluating human remains, the programs ultimately being grouped into the widely-used package MV-ARCH. In the late 1960s Wright's dealings with Tom Austen Brown had significant outcomes for the University of Sydney and the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.
