<biogHist>
<abstract>Martin Steinbauer is an entomologist whose research focuses on population ecology of native insects and the interactions between insects and their host plants, especially <span style="font-style:italic">Eucalyptus</span>, <span style="font-style:italic">Angophora</span> and <span style="font-style:italic">Corymbia</span>. This research has applications in forest growth and weed control. Steinbauer is Associate Professor at La Trobe University where he heads the Insect-Plant Interactions Laboratory.</abstract>
