Born in England Dudley Arthur Gill emigrated to New Zealand in 1923 where he later worked as Assistant Director of the Department of Agriculture's Veterinary Research Laboratory and District Superintendent of livestock in the Wellington district. In 1937 Dudley Arthur Gill became the Officer-in-charge of the F. D. McMaster Animal Health Laboratory until 1954 when he became chief of the Animal Health and Production division of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) stepping down in 1959. Dudley Arthur Gill also served on numerous boards and professional organisations such as the Australian Veterinary Association from whom he received the Gilruth Prize Meritorious Service to Veterinary Science in 1962. 1937 1954 Career position - Officer-in-Charge, F.
