He led several successful control campaigns in Queensland, including those against Harrisia cactus, Lantana, Groundsel, Parthenium and Noogoora Burr. During his 15 years as Director of the Biological Branch of the Queensland Department of Lands he significantly expanded the number of graduate staff, and improved facilities particularly relating to quarantine and the sourcing of control agents from overseas. Haseler played a leading role professional organisations in both the entomological and weed science fields, serving as President of several. For 11 years he was a Member of the Commonwealth Government's Australian Weeds Committee. Haseler was a skilled entomological illustrator. 1943 1946 Military service - Second World War.
