<biogHist>
<abstract>Charles McDonald was a physician who for over 50 years was associated with the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney (RPA). His main interest was in tuberculosis, starting in WWI and continuing at the RPA TB clinic, and as adviser on tuberculosis to the Australian Red Cross Society and the Queen Victoria Homes for Consumptives. McDonald was appointed Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at University of Sydney in 1938 and continued his involvement with the University until his death. He served as Chancellor from 1964. He was a founding Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, serving in several executive positions including President 1954 - 1956.</abstract>
