In this advocacy she developed strong links with councils, governments, companies, and conservation and community groups. As Convenor, Geological Monuments Subcommittee of the Geological Society of Australia (South Australia Division) she was instrumental in the preservation of Hallett Cove and the subsequent establishment of the Hallett Cove Conservation Park. Two study trips to the United kingdom (1978 and 1980-1) focussed on the work of nature conservation organisations in the maintenance and promotion of geological monuments.
