He played a leading role in the care, breeding and sourcing of laboratory animals and domestic species used in the production of vaccines and antisera used in human and veterinary medicine. His responsibilities included the management of large field stations and animal colonies, and conduct of an outreach program relating to immunology and infectious diseases and the use of CSL products.
