Roger Prichard is internationally recognized as an authority in anthelmintic drug resistance research. His research focuses on parasite control, drug resistance and optimizing the use pharmaceuticals against parasites. In particular he studies the mechanisms of anthelmintic action and metabolism, pharmacodynamics, and mechanisms of anthelmintic resistance, and the molecular basis for anthelmintic resistance. For 15 years before moving to Canada he was a Research Scientist with CSIRO. Prichard has been an active member of the Australian Society for Parasitology since 1969. He is a consultant for WHO programs aimed at controlling onchocerciasis and schistosomiasis and has served on a number of international associations and professional bodies.
