<abstract>Peter Seligman worked as a biomedical engineer under the direction of Graeme Clark as a key member of the team which developed the bionic ear. He co-authored several publications with Clark and was also named with him as a co-inventor on three patents. He continued this work at Cochlear Ltd from 1983 to 2009. He eventually became a professor and later continued to work as an honorary at the University of Melbourne and mentor at the Bionics Institute.</abstract>
