AACR2 1862 19 April 1940 Place of Death Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Botanist Ernest Bickford moved from Victoria to Western Australia in 1894 to manage a furniture store and became an active participant in local natural history circles. He was the inaugural President of the Mueller Botanic Society (1897-1902) and later Councillor of the succeeding Western Australian Natural History Society. Bickford published a number of articles on the Western Australian flora.
