<abstract>Maria Gandolfo, Senior Research Associate in the Department of Plant Biology, Cornell University, has been conducting research in paleobotany and plant anatomy, with emphasis on plant evolution and development, origin of angiosperms, Cretaceous and Tertiary floras and paleoclimate. In her research, she discovered the oldest known naturally occurring <span style="font-style:italic">Eucalyptus</span> macrofossils in South America. Her findings were published in 2011.</abstract>
