<abstract>Formerly a cut-flower farm, the farm owners donated the land in 1972 to become an annex of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. The Garden opened to the public in 1987 after development with State and Commonwealth Bicentennial funds.
The Garden consists of 186 hectares of woodland and gullies which are maintained as a conservation area.</abstract>
