Dalrymple-Hay Nature Reserve is located in the suburb of St Ives, Sydney, New South Wales. The reserve protects one of the few remaining stands of Blue Gum <span style="font-style:italic">Eucalyptus saligna</span> / Blackbutt <span style="font-style:italic">Eucalyptus pilularis</span> forest within the Sydney region. Together with the adjoining Browns Forest, private land and Sydney Water land, it forms one of the largest remnants of Sydney Blue Gum High Forest, an endangered ecological community listed under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995.Only approximately 1% of the estimated original 11,000ha of Blue Gum High Forest remains in a relatively natural state, and less than 0.1% is protected in a reserve.
