Physicist
Ralph Loughhead was research officer in the CSIRO Division of Physics July 1954-1972. He was leader of the solar physics group in the CSIRO Division of Applied Physics 1972 to 30 June 1987, and was assistant to the Division Chief from July 1986. Loughhead, known for his expertise on sunspots and solar granulation, retired in 1988.
