Her extensive research has been directed towards the minimisation of waste and maximisation of efficiency in the tanning industry, and the development of less environmentally-damaging processing methods. Much of her research required visiting meatworks and tanneries across Australia. The processes she developed have been widely used in Australia and overseas for over 40 years.
