Electrical engineer Graham Daniels worked as Senior Design Engineer and System Architect for Summit Electronic Systems between 1974 and 1991.
He then was appointed to the CSIRO Division of Radiophysics (now the ICT Centre) where he worked on the development of the CSIRO's innovation, the Wireless LAN network.
He is now Senior Principal Research Scientist at the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Centre.
Daniels was awarded the following CSIRO medals:
2000 - CSIRO Medal for Research Achievement (with Terence Percival and the High Performance Wireless LAN Team) for the construction of the world's first high performance Local Area Network (LAN);
2009 - CSIRO Chairman's Medal for Science and Engineering Excellence as team member (with John O'Sullivan, John Deane, Diethelm Ostry, Terence Percival and colleagues) for delivering major technical benefits to Australia and the world and substantial returns to CSIRO from Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN).
