Robert (Bob) Cannon was a pioneer of improved dentistry standards throughout the world. He travelled the globe for twenty years giving up to ten lectures each year and introduced modern equipment and treatment techniques to the Australian dental industry. He received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1991 for his services to the dental profession. In 1959 Cannon won an RSL travelling fellowship and set off to Canada to complete his doctorate. He then worked and travelled in the USA, UK, Europe and Hong Kong. Along the way he picked up clients like Kirk Douglas and Howard Hughes.
