Douglas Ian McCloskey is the Director of the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute and a conjoint in the School of Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of New South Wales. His laboratory is concerned with two broad aspects of brain function. Firstly, factors which determine the accuracy of voluntary movement are studied in normal and neurologically-impaired patients to try to understand movement control as well as develop new diagnostic tests; secondly the way in which the brain regulates breathing, blood pressure and heart rate are studied to try and find improved methods of treatment for diseases like high blood pressure. <span style="font-style:italic">Taken from http://www.hr.unsw.edu.au/recruit/supsenior.htm 2004</span>
