Graeme Jameson is Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of the Centre for Multiphase Processes at the University of Newcastle, New South Wales. He has been at the University since 1978 and has built up an international reputation as a leading specialist in fluid and particle mechanics involving surface chemistry. One of his most noted achievements is the development of the JAMESON flotation cell which has gained worldwide acceptance and is used in leading mineral processing plants. The cell uses flotation to remove oil, grease and suspended solids from industrial waste water and effluent. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2005 for his research achievements and contributions to science.
