Martin Green is the Executive Research Director of the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Silicon Photovoltaics and Photonics at the University of New South Wales where he is also an inaugural Australian Federation Fellow and Scientia Professor. Some of his other roles include Research Director of Sydney-based CSG Solar Pty Ltd, Board member of CSG Solar Pty Ltd and its parent CSG Solar AG, and Advisory Board member of many major international photovoltaic conferences and agencies. Green's contributions to photovoltaics are well known internationally and he has received several major awards, only a few of which are listed here. He and his group have carried out fundamental work on identifying the factors limiting silicon solar cell output improving their performance by over 50%. Green is the author of several books and research monographs on photovoltaics and over 300 journal papers in the area of semiconductors, microelectronics and solar cells.
