<abstract>Leo Michael Clarebrough was appointed Honorary Research Fellow at the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) Division of Materials Science and Technology in 1988, in recognition of his forty years of employment with the organisation.</abstract>
<p>Clarebrough completed a Bachelor of Metallurgy Engineering (BMetE) at the University of Melbourne and a Master of Engineering Science (MEngSc) at the University of Birmingham in the UK. From 1949 to 1964 he published a number of studies on deformed metals with Max Hargreaves, M.H. Loretto, A.K. Head, D. Michell and G.W. West.</p>
