After graduating she worked at the Prince Alfred Hospital, the Crown Street Women's Hospital and the Children's Hospital in Sydney. Nash worked as a medical officer in Hong Kong 1933-1938, before leaving for Britain with her family. Returning to Australia at the outbreak of World War II, Nash proceeded to hold a number of positions in the medical field, leading to five years working for the mental health department, which ended with her setting up private practice as a consulting psychiatrist.
