<abstract>Annie Praed enrolled in the first dentistry course at the University of Sydney. In 1938 She was the first woman to graduate Doctor of Dental Science (DDSc) from the University of Sydney. Praed was actively involved in the Society of Dental Science and helped to found the New South Wales Branch of the Australian Dental Association.</abstract>
