Jane AACR2 c. 1954 Place of Birth Canada Entomologist Jane Wright started her career working on predatory dung beetles in South Africa for CSIRO, from 1984 to 1988. She discovered a number of unknown beetles, one of which was named Aleochara wrightii in her honour. In 1988 she became an insect ecologist and behavouirist with the Stored Grain Research Laboratory, CSIRO Division of Entomology, in Canberra. Her work involved trapping and detecting insects in stored grain products, and the distribution, ecology and control of the warehouse beetle.
