About ten years later he was a member of the design team for the Cirrus computer. He then moved on the University of New South Wales, where he designed and built the INTERGRAPHIC system 1964-1966.

Scientific Officer, Department of Supply (two years with British Ministry of Supply) 1952-57; Electrical Engineering Department, University of Adelaide 1958-64; Senior Lecturer, School of Electrical Engineering, University of New South Wales 1965-67, Associate Professor in Electronic Computation 1968; Professor of Computer Science, University of Queensland 1969-95.
