<abstract>Allan Gordon 'Robbie' Robertson was Engineer-in-chief, Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works, 1967-1976, responsible for water supply, sewers, rivers and streams, drainage and all support services. During his career he was responsible for the construction of the Upper Yarra Dam, the Cardinia, Sugarloaf, and Greenvale Reservoirs and the Upper Thompson Dam. He was also responsible for the construction of the South-Eastern Purification Plant at Carrum, and the associated bored-tunnel Kew to Carrum trunk sewer and ocean outfall. He was apointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for public service, and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for community service.</abstract>
